WHY WE CREATED ZAPHOUSE
01

There is no singular place to find reliable products tailored to your unique needs — be it skin tone, skin type, breakout intensity, or lifestyle. At Zaphouse, our mission is to cut through the noise and identify what truly works. There are thousands of products that promise to help with breakouts. Through our strict vetting process, we analyze formulas, clinical data, and consumer reviews. By revolutionizing the product discovery journey, we're committed to ensuring you find skincare solutions that genuinely deliver.

02

We don’t believe in a one-product-fix-all solution. It’s about finding the best products that work together for you. Whether it's complementing your existing routine or embracing a brand-new regimen, the key is synergy. Picture a topical product paired with a supplement or maybe a stellar haircare product paired with a fresh laundry detergent. It’s the personalized blend that leads to success.

03

We understand breakouts go beyond the surface — they impact how you feel. That’s why Zaphouse is designed to equip you with tools to confidently navigate your skincare needs We offer support in these ways: providing a straight forward regimen, an always-open SOS breakout hotline (slide into our DMs anytime), and a community where our experts and other people like you share their experiences and encouragement. Education is at the core of our approach, woven into our product selections, usage guidelines, and content to empower you at every step of the way.

Anne Kurtz Ph.D.

I first experienced acne as a teenager and fortunately had access to a dermatologist. It did not go away in my teens it just changed. In my adult life I still experience breakouts from time to time, especially around my cycle or during stressful life events, but have found products that are gentler on my skin that what I used as a teen.

I received a B.A. in Chemistry from Hamilton College and a M.Sc. & Ph.D. from Cornell University. I spent ten years working at Unilever across R&D, marketing, and brand creation for personal care products. Having this inside look into how products are formulated and marketed allows me to cut through the noise and find the products that will really deliver. Additionally I write a weekly newsletter called The Juicy Byte that looks at new & emerging startups in the beauty, wellness, and health space as well as new technologies.

My story begins with my own teenage-through-young adulthood struggles with acne. Years off and on prescription products brought mild relief, with my skin and my self esteem getting worse b/f it could get better. This put me on a path of trial and error plus more questions than answers but lead me to a lifelong journey to help others with Acne.

With a degree in Biochemistry, a year in skin toxicology and 15+ years in RD and Clinical Research for Murad, a dermatologist based clinical skincare brand, I have now turned my sights back to a hyper-focus on Acne. Together with Anne and a holistic skin-health focused advisory panel we are dedicated to finding a solution with holistic perspective, that focuses on building skin-confidence and is targeted to your needs.

We are here to destroy taboos around breakouts and widen accessibility to solutions.
